Piaggio Day at The Italian Shop – A Celebration of Italian Style, Food & Community
What a fantastic day!
On Sunday 19th July, we were delighted to welcome so many of you to our Piaggio Day at The Italian Shop in Maidenhead. From the moment the first scooters rolled in until the final song of the afternoon, the atmosphere was full of Italian passion, great food and even better company.
The stars of the show were, of course, the incredible collection of classic Piaggio Ape vehicles and Vespa scooters. From beautifully restored vintage models to colourful modern classics, it was fantastic to see owners proudly sharing their pride and joy with fellow enthusiasts and visitors alike. Every vehicle had its own story, and it was wonderful seeing so many conversations sparked by a shared love of Italian engineering.
Our live music kept the courtyard buzzing throughout the day, providing the perfect soundtrack while everyone relaxed with authentic Italian food and drinks. Visitors enjoyed freshly baked focaccia sandwiches, Sicilian pastries, artisan coffee and artisan gelato, creating a little taste of Italy right here in Maidenhead.
The event wasn’t just about the vehicles—it was about bringing people together. Families, friends, long-time customers and first-time visitors all came along to enjoy the sunshine, browse the shop and spend time with fellow lovers of Italian culture. Seeing the courtyard full of smiling faces, Vespas and Apes lined up outside the store, and people enjoying everything our wonderful community has to offer made all the hard work worthwhile.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing such a wonderful variety of Piaggio vehicles on display—from iconic Vespas in every colour imaginable to the charming Ape vans that have become symbols of Italian craftsmanship. Whether visitors came for the scooters, the food or simply the atmosphere, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who brought along their Piaggio Ape or Vespa, to our musician for providing the perfect soundtrack throughout the day, and to every single person who came to support the event. Your enthusiasm and passion are what make community events like this so special.
At The Italian Shop, we’re passionate about sharing not only authentic Italian food, but also the culture, heritage and traditions that make Italy unique. Piaggio Day was a perfect example of that, and we’re already looking forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better.
