Carmelo Sardo and his father emigrated to the UK in the early 60's. With the express idea of earning a better living than their native Sicily could provide at the time.

With some luck and a lot of planning they started a small catering supply business to their fellow country men and local restaurateurs. In the beginning their stocks were a variety of Italian products including;

Pastas, cheeses, hams and the like. Soon, with the help of a friendly importer, they were able to set up their own market stall - now the business is able to supply some 6,500 products from a technologically advanced warehouse system.

In keeping with their history, Carmelo and his wife still run a delicatessen just down the road from the warehouse in Vicarage Road, Maidenhead. Having passed the management of the business over to their sons, Rosario and Mario.
